First Steps

Zachary has been starting to take his first steps for the past few weeks now and, just in the past day or so, he's really started to catch on to it. Here's video from today.

Happy Birthday Alexandra!

My grand-niece, Alexandra Dannielle, was born today! She weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and is 21 inches long. Congratulations Mandi and Will! I'm so happy for you guys! I can't wait to come see the new addition to your family and take her first portrait! :-)

See Mandi's maternity photos that I took last month.

Happy Birthday also to my niece, Sarah, who turned 20 years old today. Boy, one way or another, I am meant to feel OLD today! ;-)

Wedding: Brittany & Brent

On Saturday, Ryan and I captured Brittany & Brent's wedding day in both stills and video. It was my first time taking photos for a wedding in over 2 years! It's hard to believe it's been that long since I took my break from wedding photography! It's the longest amount of time that I've been away from Zachary and I was a little worried because he's been going through some major separation anxiety for the past few months, but he did really good with his Aunt Debbie, so that was a relief!

It was great getting back into the swing of things and it was great working with Brent's family again. We photographed and videotaped his sister's wedding 3 years ago and their family hasn't changed a bit...they still kept us laughing the whole time! :-)

Here's Brittany's bridal portrait, taken on the COLDEST day in April. It was in the 30's that morning, if I recall correctly!
Congratulations Brittany & Brent! Thank you for allowing Ryan and I to share in your special day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I woke up this morning to my daughter telling me not to get out of bed until she had everything ready for me. After laying in bed for what felt like at least a half hour, I was allowed to get up and come to the kitchen where I was greeted with a cheerful "Happy Mother's Day!" and I was ushered to the table where there was a homemade card and a chocolate glazed doughnut sitting on a little plate for my Mother's Day breakfast. It must be the perfectionism that she gets from me that takes her that long to put a doughnut on a plate, but it's the little things like this that mean more than anything to me. I wanted to share 4 generations of photos that I framed for my mom a few years ago. This was the last Mother's Day gift that I was able to give to her. These are 3 generations of mothers taken around the same age as Elaina was at that time.

Billy Goat Gruff

Zachary has been like a little goat lately. He will chew on and try to eat anything and everything! This morning, while I was out working, Ryan found him in his crib after his morning nap with white paint chips all over his face and clothes. He had decided to chew the side of his crib off! Hey Renee, look familiar?! I know you've got to be smiling at this one! Okay, so now your kid's not the only one! ;-)

It's like magic!

My Valentine's gift from Ryan was tickets to tonight's David Copperfield show, An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion, at the Peace Center. It was AWESOME! I just have to say that David Copperfield is THE MAN! That show was one of the coolest things I have ever seen! If you ever have the chance to go to one of his shows, I would definitely recommend it! Ryan and I are still scratching our heads over what we saw!
